Scary

Jinny the Witch was in our local shopping precinct this week

But maybe, scarier, is what greeted small children visiting us for Hop-tu-Naa/Halloween.

When I was a child, that witch would definitely have scared me!
She is rather wonderfully scary, isn't she?

Small children were less scared of the giant axe wielding dwarf than the older kids were - who were fascinated in a slightly worried way by it being a genuine axe!
Glad I didn't show up unexpectedly at your door!
Don't worry - I would have given you sweeties!
I love the idea of S2C answering your door like that. He certainly puts Giles in a sombrero in the shade.
Then he spoke to them in a sort of 'ho, ho, ho!' voice... "Oh! What have we here? A werewolf! Should we give it sweeties, or chop off it's head?"

Most of the children thought it was brilliant.
Eeek! I might have run had that greeted me at the door. :)

No trick-or-treaters for us, as usual. Kids don't seem inclined to walk down our spooky lane in the dark. So that means the bag of candy I picked up just in case is MINE. *g*
We live on a street of 74 terraced houses with a couple of other residential streets nearby - we had about 25 visitors last night!

S2C and I still got a Crunchie each though.
Ooh, Crunchies look good. We get a lot of Cadbury candies here but I've never seen that one. May have to look in the UK section of my grocery store to see if they have it.
