Pink

.
Two photos from last year to remind us of summer.
The first is a poppy that was growing in the 'hay meadow' strip that the Church of St Thomas The Martyr planted along the edge of their grounds a few years ago, to encourage pollinators. I took this one in June.

And the second is from my mother's garden, taken in September.

That poppy is stunning!
It is a pretty amazing colour, isn't it.
Those are both lovely.

Even now, more than 30 years after I left it, St Tom's holds a place in my heart. (I left St Tom's before I left Newcastle, as I joined my local church in Wallsend when I moved there.)
Thanks.

I do like St Thomas's (I don't feel I know it well enough to be too familiar *g*) - they are very socially active in a very inclusive way.
Oh, how beautiful! I've never seen a poppy in this shade of pink before, just some of the pale pearl-pink similar to the roses.
Thank you. It is an amazing colour, isn't it, it almost doesn't look natural.
