Hill

I realised that I have very few photographs of hills. In fact, I could only think of one and it took me ages to find it.
Not very good quality because it was taken with my iPod, this picture was taken from an upper floor of the RVI (Royal Victoria Infirmary) over the top of various University buildings to cows grazing on the hills of Town Moor.

Love the contrast between "city" and "country" there.
Thank you. Town Moor is a huge area of open green space right next to the city centre, but for some reason I always forget it has hills in it.
I had forgotten too, until I saw your picture.

I like that view out over the RVI - and recognise the white 'windmill' tower as I used to live very close to it and walk past it when I moved from working at the RVI to Hunters' Moor.
Thanks. Yes, the windmill is a distinctive landmark, isn't it. The RVI knocked down a lot of the old Nightingale wards a few years ago and had a huge re-build, so it is a bit higher now.
Nice!
Thank you.
I really like this, and particularly the fact that you can see cows grazing so close to the city. Seeing cows grazing at all has been become a rare sight hereabouts, and in most cases that would be in very rural areas.
Thank you.
Town Moor is Common Land, under the care of the Freemen of the city, but one of the perks of being made a Freeman is the right to graze your cows on it *g*
