Tree

I take a lot of photos with trees in, but they are very rarely the focus of the picture. However, I do love the bare branches of a winter tree against an unusual sky, so I dug through my pictures of the nacreous clouds (Polar stratospheric clouds) we saw last February and found this silhouette.

And then I found one of the few where the trees were the focus of the shot - a weekday dawn in December last year. I like this one for the contrast of form.

I'd never heard the term 'nacreous clouds' before. Thanks for the introduction!
Nor had I, to tell the truth, but it was a widespread phenomenon and got a mention on the radio news later in the day.
I really like both - but the first is my favourite just for the colours :)
Thank you. The sky was amazing and really the photos do not do it full justice.
*g* I almost posted a picture quite a bit like your icon.
I like both of your photos. I really love the look of trees when they have dropped their leaves. Their skeletons are very lovely.
Thank you very much. They are, aren't they.
