Monument

My grandson in Prospect Park, Brooklyn in front of the monument to the Marquis de Lafayette. If you are not familiar with American history: Lafayette played a romantic role in the Revolutionary War--a very rich and very young idealist. At only nineteen years old, along with a handful of other young men, including Alexander Hamilton, he served as part of George Washington's general staff.

That is a really interesting monument - and also a neat picture.
Thanks! I love that picture.
A handsome young man in front of a monument to a handsome young man. Nice response.
Thanks! I got a kick out of the photo when I took it.
When I went to New York with Mum & Dad in 1989 we went to Prospect Park ... but my only memory is being stung by a bee!! On my next visit I must go back. Great image
Thanks! I love that park. Designed by the same landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted as Central Park. He was brilliant. I used to live a few blocks away (in Park Slope) and Alex and went several times a week when he was little.
That's a great combination, small boy in front of the large bronze plate! :o) (Also, I don't think I've seen a pic of him so small yet. He's adorable as always! :o) )
He was tiny then! I would guess he was a little less than three years old. We used to go to Prospect Park a lot in those days. It was a short walk from our house.
