Not just one saint, but a whole set...

That is the reredos in St Martin's church in York. Almost all of the church, which dated back to the eleventh century, was destroyed in one of the Baedecker air-raids in 1942 leaving only the fifteenth century Tower and the South aisle.

Some churches so badly damaged have been rebuilt, others were demolished. In the case of St Martin's the small part left standing was restored in the 1950s so that the tower and an aisle became the entirety of the church, which is now dedicated to Peace and Reconciliation.
