Hello, everyone!

I'm another recruit from the ever-talented nutmeg3, and this is my first post here!

This is a boabab tree, taken in the Animal Kingdom Park, Walt Disney World, Florida:

I was fascinated by these trees and went through a lot of the "safari" ride trying to get a good shot of one.

That's a really cool boabab! It's so squat and wide. Plus, looked at with a bit of a squint, it looks kind of like a tentacled monster coming to get me. (Which is a compliment, just so you know.)
Thanks! It's HARD to get a good shot on that ride, they only stop the jeep a couple of times, and the road's bumpy!
Now that is a fascinating tree. It looks as if someone dug a deep hole, stuck a tree into it upside down, and this is the result!
I seem to love trees like that - one of my favorites is the desert tree the Boojam, which is very similar! It looks like an upside-down carrot!
What a neat tree! I always associate Boababs with The Little Prince. Now I'm going to picture him weeding out behemoths like this one.

OTOH this does sort of show why he had to weed them out!
It's been far too long since I've read The Little Prince! I'd forgotten that!
It's one of my all time favorites. I reread it every few years! and it's a pretty quick read for all the Deep Thoughts it contains. :D

And it's online!
Super cool boabab. They are always such interesting looking trees but this one is particularly interesting.
Extremely cool!
