I finally got the chance to get over to photograph the tree I wanted. When we first moved into the area this beautiful old Moreton Bay Fig stood in the middle of a horse paddock above the flood plain of the Caboolture River. As is often the case, it wasn't long before the developers showed up and pretty soon the poor thing was surrounded by houses. I was so happy that they didn't chop down this gorgeous old tree, but the development did take its toll as they ripped up many of its outer roots and now, several years later it is finally starting to look healthier, although it does still have a bit of a yellow tint to some of its leaves. Hopefully in time it will recover to full health and will once again be the stunning specimen it was when we first saw it.
