It's coiled and coloured all soft and springy: my daughter's bedroom rug-to-be.

Oooh, I hope we get to see a picture when it's fully assembled.
I'm sure I'll be able to incorporate it into a future prompt! It's my project over the summer to sew it together while we're having our house built.
so cool! That's going to be a beautiful rug -- I look forward to seeing it finished.
Thanks!
Oh wow, I love the colors!

So do you have a particular pattern/technique you follow for making the rug? Do you sew to join the strips together? Or just fold them in? Or what? I've been wanting to make a braided place mat, but with a minimal amount of sewing.
This tutorial is what I'm loosely going by. I sewed the strips together for my braids so I could keep better tabs on how long they were, but she has a different method of joining strips as you braid, so it involves no sewing until actually sewing the rug together.
Oh yeah! I've actually seen that tutorial! I'm going to be doing this one: http://www.craftpassion.com/2010/03/recycle-tutorial-braided-rag-rug.html which is very, very similar (if not identical) to the one you're doing. :-)

Please post a finished product picture! :-)
What a lovely picture - it's going to be a lovely rug, too.
Thank you! I especially love the dusty rose/mauve shades myself.
Thanky!
I'm in awe at the thought of putting that all together as a rug. I hope to see the final project.
Neat! And I love the colors; and am joining the chorus to request an update when it's done!
