Mother

This is a cast iron sculpture my Gramma made, based loosely on a photo of my family.  So there's my mother in it, and it was made by my father's mother.  I've always been moderately annoyed though, because one of the liberties that my gramma took was to make my little brother taller than me in this family portrait, although in fact it was several years before he was actually taller than me.

That's beautiful - and awesome that it was made by a relative.
Thanks. Gramma was a professional artist for many decades, and I'm fortunate that my home is filled with her work.
How utterly fabulous! Both the piece and the personal connection are just wonderful.
Thanks! Gramma was a remarkable lady, I loved her a lot, and being surrounded by her art makes me happy.
That's gorgeous, and what a great story. I laughed at your longstanding gripe about heights, too. It would bug me!
I laugh at myself over my on-going huffiness, but there it sits....
That's such a neat thing to own.

But I'd have been mad, too, at the relevant heights being wrong!
I'm petty, but at least I'm honest with myself about it. At 5'0" I may be more height conscious than I should be.
How special!
Thanks!
