Photo Scavenger

It seems we have a lot of orange around the place, so it was a hard decision. I decided to go with a couple of my orange friends.


The Chook (hand raised chicken who can't seem to decide if she's human or a cattle dog.) She certainly has entitlement issues and is a terrible bully.

I couldn't think what I have that is orange, or what there is locally that is orange, so started sorting through my files. I found a few birds with orange eyes or flashes of orange feathers, a number of an orange cat and then I found these tulips.

They flowers are partly orange and partly green and the petals are very frilly. I have no idea of the variety.

This was taken a few years ago in Maui. When I saw this prompt, I immediately thought of sunset...alas, it will be rainy here all week, so I thought this was my best bet.

Mouse again! I know, I'm like crazy mouse guy. But I couldn't resist using my Luka for this prompt. She's a champagne tan, so her belly and throat are a gorgeous shade of orange.

I went for flowers (or possibly weeds) for this one, and used a photo I'd taken at the end of summer and then edited as part of my photo editing course. I've put the original photograph under the cut so you can see that all I did to it was change to black and white and then 'colour pop' the flower back into colour.

Perfect timing! I just finished my multipurpose scarf:



It's ideal for Halloween, alumni events of schools whose colors are orange and black, and San Francisco Giants home games. I'd wear it to away games too, of course, if I ever went to any needed to. But it's only at San Francisco night games that you can pretty much count on wanting an alpaca scarf before the game is over, even in midsummer.
