While sitting at the computer this evening (after realizing I missed seeing the new prompt earlier today) I knew exactly which photo I wanted to use. This is a view from the trail going toward the Pinnacle Peak saddle in Mt. Rainier National Park. Pinnacle has a bit of a reddish tint, as you can see, not only in the solid rock that forms it, but also the soil and rock on the ground. My take on--or one way I would look at--earth.

Earth
I sort of love taking aerial shots, though since they are perforce taken through windows the colors are more washed out than I usually prefer. It's the patterns one sees from the air, which I love.
This was taken as I left South Africa in 2007.
