Rainy day

This is my daughter's corporate umbrella. Having spent my working life employed by the government, being a nurse, I find the idea of being given a corporate umbrella quite good fun!

If I had borrowed her corporate pens, pencils, or mug they would have been purple, too!

Spent the week realizing I don't have very much in my world that's purple. So back to the archives...

A few years back they had Chihuly glass sculptures set throughout the Botanical Gardens:

These were the pretty lavender ones.

While sitting at the computer this evening (after realizing I missed seeing the new prompt earlier today) I knew exactly which photo I wanted to use. This is a view from the trail going toward the Pinnacle Peak saddle in Mt. Rainier National Park. Pinnacle has a bit of a reddish tint, as you can see, not only in the solid rock that forms it, but also the soil and rock on the ground. My take on--or one way I would look at--earth.

Pinnacle rock

Here's another view, from a distance this time. If you look closely you can see the trail the first photo was taken from, though maybe a bit higher up on the trail than you can see here.

I sort of love taking aerial shots, though since they are perforce taken through windows the colors are more washed out than I usually prefer.  It's the patterns one sees from the air, which I love.

This was taken as I left South Africa in 2007.
