Gateway or Entrance

I joined this com way back in the day, but I was terrible about following through. I'm really going to try to keep up though!

My contribution:

This was actually taken the summer before last. It's near my Aunt & Uncle's house; just outside the south entrance to Yosemite National Park. It makes me wonder about this little building's history!

Week 1, Gateway...

Hi, all... new here, drawn irresistibly by curiouswombat! *waves* I've no idea if I'll be able to keep up with the weekly challenges, but I hope to do my best.

This is a gateway into a garden in the historic district of St. Augustine, Florida, taken a few years back while I was on vacation.  I've always thought that stone to the left looks like it could have been plucked up from Middle-earth!

I'm going to try to be a bit better about posting here!

This is a photo I took of the Corcomroe Abbey in Co. Clare Ireland. The entranceway looking out onto the cemetery and the Burren beyond it.

Week 1

Another newbie!

This a picture I took about 15 years ago in Wiltshire and is the entrance to the West Kennet Long Barrow, a Neolithic chambered long barrow close to the World Heritage Site at Avebury (which contains numerous monuments, including the famous stone circles as well as an ancient procession way and Silbury Hill).

I have been inside and can confirm that you can't reach the undeworld from there - at least not on a sunny summer afternoon!
