Squares!

My daughter and grandson playing an invented game with Lego-men on the tiles of a table in a Mexican restaurant while waiting for our food!

Monument

My grandson in Prospect Park, Brooklyn in front of the monument to the Marquis de Lafayette. If you are not familiar with American history: Lafayette played a romantic role in the Revolutionary War--a very rich and very young idealist. At only nineteen years old, along with a handful of other young men, including Alexander Hamilton, he served as part of George Washington's general staff.

Monument

This wasn't going to be the monument I had aimed to post, but seeing as I have just posted it on my page I thought I would share it here.

Unless you have seen it in person I doubt you can guess where or why. Well, I can tell you the where, Omaha Beach Normandy (where the Americans landed on 6/6/1944), but as to the why ... your guess is as good as mine!

Squares & Kitchens

Just trying to catch up

SQUARES
I love these tiles that I saw in the art deco house called Coleton Fishacre, which is in south Devon.  Hard to say which is my favourite

KITCHENS
I went to Fagin village in South Wales, last summer.  This was the kitchen of the prefab house (made rapidly at the end of the war, for those who don't know/remember them)
