Autumn

From the window of my home office...these guys are huge and noisy and drive my little dogs completely out of their minds.

Wow! I've never seen wild turkeys!
Around here they are both prolific and vociferous.
That's a big flock! (And I have to admit, every time I see them I'm really glad Ben Franklin lost the argument and they became whiskey, not our national bird.)
They travel in packs, as far as I can tell. It's not uncommon to see 30 or 40 at a time. I get quite nervous pulling the car in and out of the garage this time of year, because it takes a while for the slower birds to clear the path and I don't really want to kill them. Nor do I want to get one trapped in the garage - the thought gives me horrors.
A truly noble bird!

I saw wild turkeys in the wild for the very first time when we were in Connecticut this month. Very cool.

It won't be autumn in Phoenix for at least another few weeks (if not a month or more), but I'll have to see what I can come up with for this prompt.
Funny, I never saw wild turkeys during my 8 years in New England, but here in Northern California it's as if they own the place.

We're having 2nd summer here, but it hasn't slowed the turkeys.
That is funny. I saw them in two different places as we to Newport.

It topped out at 105 today. Summer ain't goin' nowhere. At least it's dropped out of the 110+ area.
