Water

I really was going to get out and get a new photo of water this week but I'm floored with The Crud™. So instead I offer up one from Vermont this past September. This was taken right after Hurricane Irene went through and so the falls had a lot more water going over them than usual.

That is a fabulous picture - there is a real sense of power and movement there.
Beautiful, just soft enough to have a dreamy quality.
That is gorgeous!!
Gorgeous! It looks almost like green milk glass. (Or whatever you call that opaque tinted glass.)
I love waterfalls and this one is wonderful, so much energy.
I need to learn how to make flowing water silky like that. Makes for such an interesting photo.
Longer exposures! This one was taken at only 1/10 of a second, which causes the water to blur nicely. Depending on how steady you can hold a camera, a lot of pictures like this need a tripod. I did this handheld, but I used the timer so all I had to do was not breathe and stay as still as possible while the camera took the photo.
I had a tripod on my Christmas wish list, but Santa didn't oblige. Maybe this year! I've tried resting my elbows on a steady surface, holding my breath, and trying to be stock still, but I'm obviously a shaky person!
