Somewhere amongst our of mess shoeboxes full of photos, I have a photo I took years ago at my mother-in-law's looking through her crepe myrtle at a bolt of fork lightning. Anyway, I have given up trying to find it (and realised that I REALLY need to sort through our photos and get them in some semblance of order). So, instead, here's one I took last spring:

Looking up at the Pacific Baza that nests on our property every year.

I've never heard of a Pacific Baza, but it sure does make for a beautiful shot.
It's mainly found in Australia and New Guinea http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Baza

I tried to get a decent shot of it when it was in the tree too, because it's an interesting looking bird, but it was too far away.
Lovely bird, and it looks bigger in your photo than it apparently is.
I have boxes and boxes of photos, and I hate to think of organizing them. I love being able to put names on digital photos and to file them in appropriate folders.
A few years ago I decided I was going to be good and scan all our old photos--I didn't take into account how tedious a job it was. Needless to say, I didn't get very many done before my enthusiasm waned.
I was going to do the same! Especially with the photos from the '60s and '70s. Some of those are deteriorating so badly that they will probably disappear altogether in another 20-30 years. I didn't get very far. It is tedious! There's not a lot of up sides to death, but it will get me out of some of those tedious tasks! If I could manage to croak after Christmas (I still like getting presents!) and before taxes, that would be perfect, too. It appears I won't get out of pulling together my paperwork for taxes this year...

P.S. I sound morbid! I promise you I'm not fatal or suicidal.

Yeah, I had the same problem. It seems to take forever...
