Roasted rhubarb with (it turned out) not quite enough sugar to sweeten it up this late in the season. Though, as you see, enough sugar to catch and burn a bit at one side. Sigh. I usually stew it and make sure it gets sweetened up properly, but this was mouth-puckering.



Happy ending? Involved yoghurt and maple syrup.

I've only ever had rhubarb in pie, but it's excellent in that incarnation.
I have heard tell of rhubarb pie, but never tasted it. I'd imagine it'd be excellent!
Congratulations on making it edible. It didn't look like a happy ending could have come from this disaster!
*g* Rhubarb always looks dire when cooked, though, so it's not too dramatic. And the outcome was delicious.
Oh - that would be very, very good.
Maple syrup and rhubarb is really excellent. Not sure why, but you get the slight smokiness of the maple well.
