Europe

Because I happen to have been on holiday to Strasbourg in recent memory, I have a couple of photos of Euro institutions. This is one (part of the Council of Europe complex, I'm at least 60% sure... I was on a river trip at the time, and things have merged a bit in my brain.)

Strasbourg and Alsace 357

Okay, probably not going to rock your world. Some prettier stuff under the cut (large images, and several of them. I may have got overenthusiastic).

Funky cafe society (Avignon):

Northern European style (the Oude Markt at Leuven, with snogging students for local colour)
Oude markt leuven

Vines on the Mediterranean (at Montpellier - the water ahead and to the left is salt lagoon, but to the extreme right is the Mediterranean proper. My icon is from that same day, and that is the Med too!)

My favourite corbel, and the impossibly huge cathedral round the corner, in the amazing city of Bourges:

And some central European style (Auxerre, but I have similar stuff from Strasbourg and Freiberg too):

I actually think that first building is really cool, even if the complete opposite of what I'd expect for this prompt.
I really like it, too.
I think the blue sky helps, tbh! But it's quite fun. I'm more of a cathedral woman, though!
Heh. It's what I think of as Euro-architecture, rather than European - stuff made for the EU institutions tends to have this look. It's pretty nice under a blue sky!
I love that cathedral shot.
It's the most amazing place. I was on a tour looking at stained glass so we saw a *lot* of cathedrals. This was the one where we just kept looking up, and up, and up with our mouths open!
