Australia

I've never been to Australia, either... but because our climate is similar to large parts of Australia, we get a lot of transplants...

This particular Red Gum tree is ginormous -- but it's just one of the many many many Eucalyptus trees throughout Arizona, since they grow very well here:

And this was a little visitor we had the Phoenix Zoo last year:

I do love that rather fed-up looking koala.
He mostly kept his back to us -- I finally got this shot when he turned slightly so I could get a profile!
I once heard a person with Swedish ancestry remark that her ancestors came to the United States and kept traveling until they could find somewhere as cold and miserable as they place they left! They landed in Minnesota. It seems the Aussies had to look for something as hot and dry as their homeland and settled on Arizona!
That does seem to work... there are an AWFUL LOT of folks of Norwegian/Swedish/Danish descent scattered across the upper great plains, from Minnesota through the Dakotas...

I have met a few Aussies here, but definitely there's a lot of Australian plants!
Koala! When(ever) I manage to visit, we must go to the zoo. :-)
YES! We missed out on seeing your Zoo, so we can definitely do the Phoenix Zoo (or even the Wildlife World Zoo, also very impressive!).
I'll be happy to do both. :-)
