Asia

Have always been deeply enamored of Asia and Asian cultures, but have never been there. So back to the archives, and Las Vegas, where the Bellagio does up its atrium every year for the Chinese New Year -- this year, of course, the Year of the Dragon (my year!):

I have a nice shot or two of these twining dragons at full length (sideways), but for some reason they aren't in my photobucket albums and I can't get the site to upload right now...

That's me...

Those are wonderful - what brilliant dragons!
Mom and I were there for the Year of the Dog, the Pig, and the Rabbit -- I told her we could NOT miss the Year of the Dragon!
I love dragons. Well, the thought of dragons. I probably wouldn't be an enamored of meeting a real fire-breathing giant lizard!
Ah, but Asian Dragons tend to be benevolent, good luck spirits of earth, air, fire, and water -- meeting them was considered a great omen of fortune, guardians of strength! :)

I love it! Wouldn't that be a fun job? Designing the seasonal decor for a casino?
One time we got there just in time to see the crews coming in and changing things out -- and they're FAST -- it was getting started when we came in and it was done by that evening. I'll bet the designers do the whole year in advance. I love the Bellagio!
