North America

Most of my photos are, of course, taken in North America, since that's where I live and the furthest "abroad" I've been is the Caribbean. I decided to delve into the archives...

This is me "standing on the corner in Winslow, Arizona":
Yes, it does exist.

Up on "top" of North America, in the Colorado Rockies:

Some of the remaining "kitsch" in Arizona along Route 66 -- this is still a real motel:

As you can see from these pics, I was somewhat Rubinesque in the 1990's... :)

Happy 4th of July to everyone in the States!

I've been to Colorado - but now I do need to get to Arizona!
Yes! Although do make it spring or autumn -- if you come in the summer the north country has snow and in the summer the low deserts are somewhat inhospitable...
Oh - I love your friend in the first one!
I don't know if it's supposed to be Don Henley or one of the other Eagles or even if it's anyone real, but it's pretty cool.

Someone told me it had been moved to another street corner, but we haven't been to Winslow in years!
♪♫Such a fine sight to see!♪♫ I probably heard that song a zillion times in my teen years.

I saw a bit on television about the wigwams. They had been decrepit, and, I believe, a lottery winner purchased and refurbished them. They'd be a unique stop for a night!
Yes, I believe they were refurbished some years ago -- we went through in 1996 or 1997, I think; and, alas, we weren't stopping in Holbrook, so we didn't stay the night! Someday, though, someday! :)

(And hopefully before someone decides they're TOO kitschy and tears 'em down!)
