Africa

Again, having never been to Africa; this is all that I could think of:
DSCN1188

This is a Moorish fountain from the Alcazar in Seville, Spain. The Alcazar is a royal palace, but was originally a Moorish fort. The Almohades were the first to build a palace, which was called Al-Muwarak, on the site of the modern day Alcázar. The palace is one of the best remaining examples of mudéjar architecture.

That is very pretty - I like the way the light is catching it.
Thanks! We really loved Seville and spent 4 hours wandering around the Alcazar and its gardens.
Another place I'd love to visit someday.
I would highly encourage a visit to Seville if you ever get the chance. We were there for 3 days and it was a blast; huge cathedral with 55 (packed to the gills) chapels, gorgeous alcazar with an amazing outdoor space, plus tapas and sherry. Whats not to love?
Wow, 55 chapels! I have an LJ friend who lives in Spain, and her photos of the architecture of the buildings are amazing. Hopefully, one of these days, I'll see it with my own eyes.
