Clearly I didn't wield the camera for this one - but I did scan it from a very old photo...

This is my mother's uncle Charles Augustus Christian, photographed in 1919. He spent much of his life in the King's African Rifles and then became an instructor for the Kenyan Police force in the 1930s, finally dying in Mombasa where he was doing something for the British government during WW2.

Actually we have more photos of him - but they are currently on loan to the local museum as he is to feature in a display to commemorate the centenary of the 1st World War through 2014.
