Plants

A very odd and unique tree to the Southwest Deserts (Arizona and down into Sonora, Mexico):

Meet... the Boojum tree!

Comments

What a fascinating tree! So well adapted to the surroundings.
It's a relation to the ocotillo, another one of my favorite local plants.
Definitely a strange looking tree - but it suits its environment.
They grow only on the Baja Peninsula and up into the Sonoran deserts. Fascinating and strange I've never seen one in the "wild," I took these shots at the Botanical Gardens here.
How interesting!
