Birds

I love birds, too, and have tons of shots.

Here's the state bird of New Mexico, and one of my favorites (he doesn't go "Beep-beep"):

And to be fair, the state bird of Arizona:

A raven in a Santa Fe cemetery:

Terns on a beach in Florida:

A friendly little fellow in the Aviary at the Phoenix Zoo (I don't remember what he is):

Obligatory grackles:

Comments

Wait! That first bird looks so different from the one I grew up knowing! :-)

I always like seeing grackles. We don't have them here, so thanks for including them. I'm so envious of their long tails...
Tell me about it! When I first moved to the Southwest and we saw one, I was about six or seven, and SO disappointed when I found out they weren't tall and purple! *LOL!*
What a lovely selection - and almost all new to me.
Roadrunner
Cactus Wren
Common Raven
Terns
beats the heck out of me
Great-tailed grackles

I know most of them are native to North America (great-tailed grackles came up from Central America/Mexico), but that bi-colored critter was in the zoo, so I don't know where it comes from!
I enjoy birds, but I dread the grackles! When they discover the bird feeder is open for business, they can clean it out in no time! I have to give up feeding until they forget and move on.
Yes, but they're such comedians! The mockingbirds hassle them unmercifully. Of course, I've never seen them get interested in my bird feeders--usually it's the mourning doves that devour the most!
