The owl is totally cool indeed. The last pic almost makes me wish it were winter (almost). Pretty. :)

Oh, I love, love, LOVE that Cardinals shot! I wish cardinals still came down into the Phoenix valley!

We have a lot of them - some years more than others, but always a pretty good number. They don't seem to be very bright - put their nests in easy to get at places, fly into windows, and get caught by predators pretty easily. But they are pretty; especially in the winter.

Oh, I'm so envious! The only time I've been close to and owl was at the zoo. Lucky you!

It's pretty cool. He (she?) hoots all the time, which is a lovely sound, and flies across the yard once in while or even sits on top of the bird feeder looking for unwary chipmunks or small birds.

Wonderful! The owl is darling. The last photo is enchanting.

I particularly like the owl - he looks as he's wearing a scarf!

Clearly I got the best picture of the owl - but he's big and was sitting only about 10' away from the front door. The hawk has been hanging out all day, but I can't get a picture of her because she sits either too high in the trees, or where there are too many leaves in the way. She won't come as close to the house as the owl does.
