Maths

I'm sorry - I can't use the singular of mathematics - it feels totally wrong to me - you'll have to accept that for Europeans the word has an 's' on it!

This is a picture of a statue which is meant to depict Newton, doing some sort of trigonometry.

Newton, British Library

It is in the courtyard of the British Library, and the sculptor is Eduardo Paolozzi

I have to say that when we first saw this scuplture it was from behind - and my daughter decided it was someone pulling their socks up whilst sitting on the loo..

Totally accepted. :)
Thank you!
ROFL I like her explanation - although it doesn't suit the prompt as well, does it?
I mentioned it to a taxi driver when I was last in London and we drove past - he really did laugh out loud and said it would be 'that guy on the toilet' to him for ever now!
How very like!
I have to say that, from the angle she was looking, it was the best possible guess!
