Like many others, I failed miserably last year... I'm going to try to do better this year because I really do enjoy this community.

This is nowhere near as glamorous or ornate as most of the lovely doors and gates that have been posted so far--this is our poor little beaten-up rustic gate into our veggie patch. It was a gate in-use when we first bought the property (from memory it lead into the paddock), it has since been replaced with a nice new more horse-proof gate. When we were fencing off the veggie patch in order to save it from our overly enthusiastic chickens, we decided that we wanted to go for the rustic look, so we re-used some old fencing and the old gate.

Oh, but how wonderful! Your gate leads to real animals. I don't know if I knew you have horses. I'm so envious.
LOL Down to just kids' two ponies now (one cranky and adorable 10.2 hand bitsa, and one 14.1 hand arabian pony which I keep hoping my daughter will take away one day as she keeps promising), our 2 pure-bred arabs are living with my friend as we don't have a lot of grass on the property, and my allergies had got so bad that I couldn't even give my boy a stroke on the nose without my eyes swelling closed *sigh*).
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. But still...horses. *sigh*

ETA: What's a bitsa?

LOL A bit of this and a bit of that. As far as we can tell there is definitely Shetland and Welsh Section A, but there could be anything in the mix... we call her our little Pit Pony (or the ride-on mower). http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z292/Always_art/private/100-1.jpg

What a cutie!
She's adorable...and evil! lol The things she has done to my son over the years! But we love her, despite (or possibly because of) her evilness.
So green and beautiful. Everything is white here, at the moment. I'm ready for spring!
LOL It is only green because we have been watering everyday...it's been a hot dry summer so far and we're in desperate need of rain, so the rest of the property is just brown and crispy.
I like that gate! And your garden looks so healthy; I'm a little jealous!
LOL As I said to Bojojoti above, it's only healthy because we have been watering it everyday--but our poor dam is running low (as is the water tank for our drinking water), so some good solid rain would be sooooo nice.
That looks wonderfully...warm.
LOL It's definitely warm.
I really like that gate - and I love the owl on the gatepost.
I love my owl... my son bought him for me (along with a rooster in the same style).
Your garden is so charming, and has a feeling of peace. I lice in Tassie, I wish my garden was as green.
I hope you are safely away from all the fires!

The veggie patch is the only part of our property that is green because we've been watering it (although our dam is getting much lower than I'd like it to be, so unless we get some rain soon that may have to stop).

It's been a hot dry summer for our poor country this year, hasn't it?
