Root

Really wanted something cool like a pig rooting, or something, but settled for these shots of various tree roots from one of our hikes in N. Carolina. Apparently I was intrigued by trees and roots, because I had a bunch of them. ;)

Those are fascinating - all the trees around here seem to have their roots well buried!
These were growing at some altitude and in very steep, rocky areas, so they needed those roots to cling to whatever they could find to hold on to. :)
Those are marvelous shots. It looks like a wonderful place to walk.
We had some wonderful hikes. Based on the leaves around them, I'm guessinf this was a rather beautiful, if rough, hike in Blowing Rock through a forest of rhododendrons that must be amazing to see in the spring when they are blooming.
Definitely a watch-your-step kind of walk.
You have no idea! LOL
No wonder you had so many shots of them. They're all so twisty and fascinating.
They are. Apparently I have a thing for twisty roots. :)
Nice! I love the moss growing all over them and the ground.
Very pretty. I love the rhodies!
