Tower...

This is the bell tower of the Kenrick-Glennon Seminary in St. Louis, as it appears in ordinary daylight:

But to my 10-year-old eyes, this is what I always saw....

I don't think it's really haunted....

Hee! Your poor childhood self. Though it's quite a severe desgin, I kind of like the jelly moulds on the corners :) (They're probably hills or something. But I see jelly.)
Oh yes - jelly moulds make it so much friendlier!
Ha! I never noticed the jelly molds. But yes, it is *very* severe. I'm not sure what the architectural influences are behind its design--it reminds me a little of the towers in Morocco mashed together with cathedral towers in England, and utterly stripped away of any grace or charm.

Can you tell I'm not crazy about it!
I can see how it might look quite scary...
I remember having to shut my eyes every time we drove past!
Ooooh, that must be very eeeerie indeed in the dark.
I mostly would close my eyes when I saw it at night! LOL But here's a pic someone took: http://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/68936780.jpg

It's definitely creepy eerie.
Oh dear, poor younger you! That is a haunting view! It's a beautiful Bell Tower though. :)
It does have a certain dignified beauty... once you get past the to-a-child's-eyes creepy. LOL
Tries to un-see the jelly moulds. Impressive tower, though.
We will never unsee those! LOL
