Look up!

Last night I was in our tiny cathedral at a recording of the BBC Songs Of Praise TV programme to be aired at the beginning of Advent. As I looked up from my seat this is what I could see -

look up

The slight mistiness near the bottom of the picture is exactly that - we were very close to a 'smoke machine' that sent drifts of water mist into the air.

Ooh, exciting! And a lovely shot. You must remind us when you'll be on, though I do sometimes watch the Advent Songs of Praise anyway. But an extra Man frisson!
I have just written a little more about it on my journal. And I promise I will remind people, closer to the date - which is December 1st.
I can imagine something like that in the Minas Tirith citadel.
Yes - it would not be out of place - it was about seven or eight foot up to the bottom of the bit you can see - so shone light down rather nicely.
This is really lovely. I always wonder about wax dropping on top of people's heads, but I'm sure you were out of range :-)

The base of the stand is about the same circumference as the top - so any dripping wax would fall on the floor very near the base. Although the feet of the lady sitting beside me were within range if she stretched them out a little.

But actually these ones didn't drip once throughout the entire evening.
It is a lovely pic; a diadem of light.
What a lovely description!
