Remember

A bouquet of flowers to remember fallen policemen...

Luxembourg City

Luxembourg City, Luxembourg. September 2007.

Yes, it was a sad spot.
I have such respect for the police and fire people who put their lives on the line every day for the public good. It's a lovely bouquet, and I truly wish such bouquets never needed to be bestowed and that none of these brave men and women lost their lives in the performance of their jobs.

So true.
It is a good thought.

You know, what somehow makes it both sadder and more meaningful to me, is actually the dead leaves that have simply landed on it at random. I'm not 100% sure why, but they make it even more poignant.
Yes, I think so too. Plus, it was cold and sleeting that day, so it just made it even more somber.
So beautiful and vibrant, with bold colors to match their bold lives.
I particularly loved it in the outdoor setting with the fallen leaves and the sleet.
A good gesture (and yes, the fallen leaves definitely add to the symbolism)
Yes, thought so.
What a poignant, wistful photo. I'll add my agreement to everyone else's comments about the fallen leaves adding to the effect.
The weather definitely added to the somberness.
What an interesting contrast, either intended or not, to have the fallen leaves with the bouquet... a very speaking way of remembering.
Yes, I agree it is a nice contrast. Just luck on my part.
