Insects

At first I thought I would have to cheat and use a spider, but then I remembered that I saw some really neat insects in Madagascar, so here are a few masters of camouflage. This is a close-up of a leaf insect:

And a stick insect who doesn't look like an insect at all:

Those are astounding!
Nature never fails to amaze me.
Oooh, you saw life phasmids? How awesome! Terrific shots!
Clearly you know way more about insects than I do, so I'm just going to say yes and thank you. :-)
No, I've just read Patrick O'Brian and seen the movie, and let myself be carried away of a standing joke in a fan forum around both. Looking it up for a link I also just learned that I - we in the forum - were wrong all the time: phasmids don't refer to all such insects as I thougth, just to the stick insect. Ah well. *blushes*
Still, the envy very much remains.
They are true Masters Of Disguise!
I know! We saw them at a reptile center. I never in a million years would have spotted them in the wild.
Ooh, cool bugs!
And very unbuglike (which may be part of their charm). :-)
Neat!
Thank you. :-)
Those are very cool bugs! And bugs I don't get to see every day.
Of course, you might see them and just not know it. *g*
Very cool:-)
Thank you. :-)
