Insect

An insect made of flowers:

And a moth I saw on the ground that was as big as my hand...

Comments

I love those ladybugs. And the moth shot is really cool, because with no indication of scale there's no way to tell it was that huge.
It was an amazing moth -- unfortunately, it was sitting on the pavement, and there really WASN'T anything around to show how big it was, and I wasn't going to pick it up......
Ok, _these_ are ladybugs I still like. How beautiful! And what a impressive moth. Very beautiful in her own right, too, of course.
I was both impressed by her size and her coloring -- it was quite lovely, and we don't usually have interesting moths in Arizona (I was up in Wickenburg) of that sort. I'd never seen one like it.
I love the ladybirds.

The moth looks like a modern aircraft in desert camouflage.
Great photos!
It's astounding how large some moths can be.
I love the camo moth:-)
Those ladybugs look like they're auditioning for the Rose Parade. :)

And what a big moth! I looked it up (because I'm a geek that way) and it's a Pachysphinx modesta or "Modest Sphinx Moth". Although I'm not sure how a moth that big could be anything near modest...
