I suspect you've done a lot of renovating since then. :)
Well, the floor in the room, obviously, and a new bathroom, but not all that much otherwise:)
I hoped someone would have some pics like this - I was thinking this way but couldn't find any, in the end.
Glad to oblige ;-)
I'm curious... were you limited as to color palette when you painted? A lot of apartments here let you paint, but only with white or cream.
I rent from the bank, so no restrictions:-)
Wow, I never heard about that before. Hereabouts, you usually paint yourself when you move in - or not, your choie, but in this case the landlord can ask you to paint at a later date, as regular intervals have to be followed. But you're completely free of choice as long as it stays with regular materials, or have to remove it yourself. If your choice of colour is too intense, you might need to paint again before you leave, but that is the worst.
Here it all depends on the landlord. Some are very restrictive, not even allowing renters to hang pictures with nails (although nowadays there are all those new nondamaging hooks on the market, so that might not be an issue as much anymore). Some places do allow any colors but might want you to paint it white before you move out.
I did have to fill in plug holes in the walls when I moved out of my last council flat, but that was all.
Here, in council housing, the rule is usually that you have to leave it as you found it; although for instance light blue instead of white might pass inspection - often it can also depend on whether the next occupant accepts your changes (which then become their responsibility when the one after that moves in).

Private landlords may of course have their own rules.
Ah, don't I know this so well! *g* Great choice.
Thanks:-)
