Not sure what he'd done to need the cage...

tomb with roll cage

Excellent question. Maybe he was/is a vampire.
Actually he is Richard de Beauchamp, 13th Earl of Warwick (1382 - 1439), in the Beauchamp Chapel of St Mary's Church, Warwick.

Although that doesn't rule out him being a vampire...

Very intriguing!
It is, isn't it?

*g* This is literally the first gilded cage I see! Neat!
It is indeed a gilded cage!
Oh, nice response to the prompt. And a fascinating tomb.
Thank you - just noticed this comment for some reason!

It is the tomb of Richard de Beauchamp, 13th Earl of Warwick (1382 - 1439), in the Beauchamp Chapel of St Mary's Church, Warwick. S2C & I went there with Gill after WriterconUK one year.
It must have been a serious offense if he is still serving out time for it even after dying. Great use of the prompt!
Sorry - just noticed this comment. Yes - it looks a bit mean, doesn't it? Although as it is the tomb of the 13th Earl of Warwick (1382 - 1439), I'm not too sure what he might have done wrong!
Well, he's not going anywhere soon...
Nope - certainly making sure he stays where they put him!
