Confined

I had to think a bit about this challenge, too, but some of the entries already made finally gave me an idea. So have some vegetables confied to very orderly and decorative beds! :o)

The decorative gardens at Villandry castle in the Loire Valley in France are entirely planted with vegetables. We have been lucky to be there just before harvest time last year, so saw them in all their glory.

The violet and white round shapes are cauliflower heads.

Oh, very clever and very nice pictures, too.
I usually prefer a wilder landscape, but those are beautiful gardens.
Formal gardens are not my favourite either, but they can be beautiful. And this one is truly one of a kind with all the vegetables.
Ooooh! I'd love to plant a mini-garden just like that.
:o) I suppose a mini-garden would be even more work than the regular size one... but I'm sure it would look absolutely lovely!
What fascinating gardens - I am so pleased that this prompt brought those pictures to your mind.
Revisiting this castle and its gardens was my main goal of this trip last year, and it was absolutely worth it.
They may be confined but they are also lovely.
Aren't they? My own veggies grow rather wildly, with lots of useful herbs and flowers in between, so they can all help each other, need the least watering and so on. The work necessary to have such neat beds as at that castle must be enormous - but it's really nice to look at it! *g*
Now I have allotment-envy *g*
