I was in our local town yesterday, looking for a good picture. But the centre of town was grey and bleak, the Christmas lights weren't lit, and it was not at all photogenic. Then, as I went for a bus home, I thought to take a picture of the building across the way from the bus stop.

So this is one of the more interesting modern buildings in town!

There was a 1930s cinema on the site, called the Royalty. When this was demolished the developers took the ideas of a 1930s cinema and adapted them for the new building, which embodies them better than the original one did. There is a large, chrome, 'figurehead' on the corner but, sadly, it is now difficult to see since the new police station now obscures it. But here is a flavour of the Royalty Building.
