In or Out

A late post to the "In and Out" challenge - somewhat appropriately :-)

This life-sized painting appears above the door of a Buddhist temple in Coquitlam. It shows the death/parinirvana of the historical Buddha Shakyamuni - the moment at which he is said to have achieved final release from the uncontrolled rebirths of cyclic existence.

I'm not sure, but I think it's meant both as a visual pun and to provoke the viewer to ask themselves what "exiting" means to them.

Either way it works... and it's ever so slightly droll, too.
