Flight

During WW2 there were 3 RAF bases on the small island. One was near a hamlet called Jurby, and at the end of the war RAF personnel replaced the porch on the parish church. They left their 'signature' on one of the windows;

That's very cool.
Isn't it just! As you can see, from the crack in the window, the church is not in the best of conditions, but I can see why they haven't replaced this pane.

I found myself wondering about who painted it - I think it was probably just one of the airmen rather than anyone professional.
That is really nice; especially the fact that they have kept it, even with the crack.
