Inside and Outside

I intended to post these this morning but I got distracted by RL, pesky thing that that is.

This is the inside of a chapel in Tynemouth Priory. The priory itself was dissolved by Henry VIII, but this chapel was restored with Victorian stained glass in the windows and the ceiling painted blue with stars.

The castle and priory ruins are on the cliff top overlooking the sea and the headland is a prime defensive position. However, if you look beyond and to the right of the big, First World War gun, beyond the Victorian graveyard and below the ruined medieval wall, you can see the round window of the chapel, viewed from the outside.

Terrific!
Thanks.
wow
*grins* Thanks
I love that ceiling.
Yes, it is a nice surprise, wandering around ruins and suddenly finding a room like that.

this be bout my inside out

Enjoying the blue sky out my window
Staying inside sick in bed
With this aching in my head
The ancient forest is alight
With glory over the cloak of night
As I under my covers lie, waning
Good morning, thank you and goodnight! ~psp

Nice. And a nice view too.
Gorgeous inside to the chapel
Yeah, it was a nice surprise to suddenly discover it.
How nice to see the inside of the chapel - it is really rather lovely.
It is, isn't it. It was a real surprise to find it. Not what you expect in a ruined priory.
It's great to see the inside and outside of the chapel together; it's getting even more impressive this way. I love the vault work, too; they really got enthusiastic about the details, didn't they? :o)
Didn't they. I didn't expect it to be there, so it was a lovely surprise.
