Tree

A tree stump in Beacon Hill Park, Victoria, British Columbia (Canada). This is what was left after a dying tree was trimmed down for safety reasons.

For some reason, someone has chosen to decorate it with a small painting of the White Rabbit from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland ... complete with waistcoat (partially hidden under his jacket!) and pocket watch.

This reminds me a little of the 'elfin oak' in Kensington Gardens, which was carved and painted in 1930. Unfortunately there's now a metal cage around it to prevent vandalism, which makes pictures difficult.

Time is obviously up for that tree.
It's nice that they left a tall stump ... and that is some lovely graffiti.

Lovely image, thanks for sharing it with us all
Hee, what fun.
That's a really good White Rabbit.
I love it!
What a fun idea to have the rabbit at this very spot!
