notes from a small island

In the end I went for the obvious.

I really like the way that the reflection in one of the meat forks, of my red biscuit tin, makes a heart.

Some fancy forks there. I could do this one! All I have to do is remember to take a picture.
When we got our current cutlery, for our 25th wedding anniversary, I decided we would have cake forks! I had always thought it remarkably 'posh' as a child to go somewhere and them have a special fork to eat your cake :)

The left-hand carving fork is fairly new, but the one that developed the red heart is very old, but still usable s I keep it in case I need two of them sometime.
Hee, looks like one side of one of those intimidating place settings.
It does rather :) Goodness knows what a meal would require two carving forks, but put it in front of me and I'll give it a go!
Well, the one on the left cleary is a dessert fork for Hagrid! *lol*
weird thought - you could draw a graph of fork size against number of tines and it would start with a lot of average to small sized ones at four tines, mostly very small ones at three tines, then for two tines there's really nothing between the teeny wooden forks that come with some snacks and giant carving forks. I wonder if there are any with five, or fork-like gizmos with only one?

Nice picture anyway!
Hmm - I hadn't thought about it before! Apparently it is possible to get a five tined table fork -

The obvious is often the best!
Thank you!
Great collection! I particularly love the reflection heart. :o)
I was so happy when I saw the way the tin reflected :)
